About NMDP

At NMDP, we believe each of us holds the key to curing blood cancers and disorders. As a global nonprofit leader in cell therapy, NMDP creates essential connections between researchers and supporters to inspire action and accelerate innovation to find life-saving cures. With the help of blood stem cell donors from the world’s most diverse registry and our extensive network of transplant partners, physicians and caregivers, we’re expanding access to treatment so that every patient can receive their life-saving cell therapy. NMDP. Find cures. Save lives.

Why NMDP

Every three to four minutes, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer; this could be a stranger, a brother, or your family member. Becoming a donor is a direct way to help—you could be someone’s cure. Young male donors have the best medical outcomes for patients, making SAE brothers ideal donors.

As partners, SAE can help grow the donor registry and save more lives. More than 16,000 registry members have been added, 50 of which went on to donate lifesaving blood stem cells to a patient in need. To save more lives, SAE launched our national partnership with NMDP in July 2021.

What Can I Do?

  • Join the registry : It’s as easy as registering online or at an in-person event, then swabbing your cheek with the provided kit. Get all your questions about becoming a donor answered here.
  • Host a donor registration event : Once you and your brothers are in the registry, organize an in-person or online event for your campus or community. You’ll be connected with an NMDP Representative who will provide everything you need for your event. Invite other fraternities and sororities from your campus, your colleagues or your local neighborhood to become life-saving donors. Email Matthew Kroeger at mkroeger@NMDP.org to get started!
  • Raise funds to save lives : Fundraising can be a fun competition or in memory or honor of someone. No matter what you choose, you’ll be delivering cures for blood cancers and blood disorders. Start a page with SAE’s NMDP Fundraiser to financially support adding potential donors to the registry, helping cover uninsured costs for patients and fund groundbreaking research.
