The brotherhood of Sigma Alpha Epsilon does not end after graduation; membership is for life. The transition from your collegiate experience into the next chapters of life can be challenging. Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s values of friendship, scholarship, leadership, and service can continue to be a source of connectedness for you post-graduation. Here are some ways you can stay connected with your chapter and find additional belonging wherever life takes you.
There are numerous opportunities for alumni to give back by sharing their personal and professional experiences with collegian members.
Coach and mentor officers as part of the Alumni Advisory Board. Advisors are key to a chapter’s long-term success and may have defined roles that support chapter finance, ritual, scholarship, recruitment, member education, alumni relations, or health & safety.
Provide leadership in maintenance, renovations, collections, food service, taxes, and other regulatory measures for chapter houses and facilities. The House Corporation board is typically composed of alumni volunteers who can assist with state, university, and local community expectations.
Province Archons and their Province Council provide regional leadership to both collegiate chapters and alumni associations, maintaining communication with the Fraternity Service Center staff and the Supreme Council.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s Educational Programs are largely successful due to the individuals who volunteer their time to serve as facilitators. Alumni and friends of SAE, including campus-based professionals and other headquarters staff, are eligible to serve as facilitators.
Interested in helping guide the next generation of True Gentlemen? As a Career Mentor, you will be matched with a collegiate member or another alumnus to share your knowledge and help mentees reach their professional goals.
Numerous other opportunities exist for alumni to share their personal and professional experiences with the collegiate chapters by conducting professional development workshops (resume writing, interview skills, financial planning), attending recruitment events, assisting with ritual ceremonies, or being a mentor. Many of these opportunities require a limited investment of time while offering a significant reward.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s Alumni Affinity Groups offer alumni the opportunity to build a community around similar interests, hobbies, professions, extracurricular activities, or passions. Alumni are able to network, share ideas, do business together, or simply build additional SAE connections.

The SAE Hunters & Anglers group’s purpose is to cultivate the fraternal nature of outdoor recreation and to serve as a place for SAE brothers around the Realm to connect and share their passion for hunting, trapping, fishing, and the great outdoors.

The SAE National Golf Association’s purpose is to cultivate the fun and friendships of outdoor recreation and to serve as a place for SAE brothers around the Realm to connect and share their passion for golf. This group is only open to initiates of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

Since our founding on March 9, 1856, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity has always had a strong bond with Masonry. One of our Founding Fathers, Dr. Thomas Chappell Cook (Alabama 1856), President William McKinley (Mount Union 1872), William C. Levere (Northwestern 1897), and John O. Mosely (Oklahoma 1918) are members of both organizations, and many of us have also followed that path over the years. Any initiated Brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon who is a Mason or is interested in Masonry may join.

The SAE Historical Society is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich history of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, focusing on both local chapters and the fraternity’s broader legacy. By highlighting the contributions of its members, past and present, and fostering a sense of community, the SAE Historical Society ensures that the fraternity’s legacy continues to inspire future generations while deepening their connection to its storied past.
