Sigma Alpha Epsilon to Expand to Stony Brook University in Spring 2027
Sigma Alpha Epsilon is preparing to bring its legacy of brotherhood, leadership, and personal development to Stony Brook University, marking an exciting new chapter for the Fraternity’s expansion efforts. Beginning in Spring 2027, SAE will establish its presence on the Stony Brook campus for the first time, expanding Province Nu to a new campus and creating opportunities for students to join a brotherhood rooted in more than 170 years of tradition.
Founded on March 9, 1856, at the University of Alabama, SAE has grown from a single chapter into a national brotherhood united by the commitment to develop True Gentlemen. Expansion has played an important role in that growth, connecting new generations of students with the Fraternity’s values, and creating opportunities to build meaningful relationships, develop leadership skills, and make a lasting impact on their campuses and communities.
SAE’s expansion model is designed to establish a strong foundation for long-term success. Rather than focusing solely on building membership, the Fraternity works to develop a chapter culture grounded in its mission, values, and expectations. Through intentional recruitment, leadership development, education, and ongoing support, SAE seeks to equip its newest members with the tools necessary to build a sustainable organization and create a positive campus presence.
The launch at Stony Brook University represents an opportunity to build that foundation from the beginning. As SAE enters a campus where it has never previously been represented, the Fraternity looks forward to connecting with students who are eager to grow as leaders, form lasting friendships, and contribute to something larger than themselves. The goal is to establish a brotherhood that reflects SAE’s standards while responding to the unique opportunities and needs of the Stony Brook community.
Work has already begun to identify and develop the future leaders of the Stony Brook chapter, providing the guidance and resources necessary to help them establish a meaningful and enduring presence on campus. The effort will focus not only on the chapter’s initial development but also on its ability to thrive and serve future generations of members.
With this expansion, SAE continues its commitment to thoughtful growth and to investing in the future of the Fraternity. The addition of Stony Brook University to Province Nu opens the door to new relationships, new opportunities, and a new generation of True Gentlemen.
The next chapter of SAE’s story is set to begin at Stony Brook in Spring 2027.
