Brad Cohen has been awarded Distinguished Service Award No. 172, a recognition bestowed upon only 172 of more than 330,000 men initiated into the Brotherhood.

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes a lifetime of exceptional service to the Brotherhood, and Brad’s record of service exemplifies that standard. His commitment has spanned decades and virtually every level of Fraternity leadership. He served as Social Chair, Eminent Deputy Archon, Eminent Archon twice, and on the Fraternity Service Center staff as an Expansion Consultant before culminating his service as Eminent Supreme Archon.

Brad was also one of the select few entrusted to serve on all three Boards of the Brotherhood, a testament to the confidence placed in his leadership, judgment, and commitment to the Fraternity.

Perhaps his most consequential contribution came during his tenure as Eminent Supreme Archon, when the Brotherhood made the forward-looking decision to end pledgeship. It was a courageous decision that challenged the status quo and demonstrated a willingness to make difficult changes for the long-term health, safety, and future of the Brotherhood.

Brad also demonstrated that same spirit of leadership in establishing the first dedicated DEI position for a major fraternity, helping the Brotherhood recognize the importance of ensuring that our organization continues to welcome, support, and strengthen the diverse community of men who comprise it.

Leadership is not simply about preserving what has been; it is about having the vision and courage to build what comes next. Brad’s service reflects that principle. He has consistently put the long-term interests of the Brotherhood ahead of convention, helping shape an organization that is stronger and better positioned for future generations.

We are proud to recognize Brad Cohen with Distinguished Service Award No. 172 and grateful for a lifetime of leadership, service, and commitment to making the Brotherhood stronger for those who follow.

At the same time, we recognize that exceptional Fraternity service is rarely accomplished alone. The Order of the Violet was awarded to Kim Cohen in recognition of her many years of support for Brad, our undergraduate members, and the Fraternity Service Center. Her dedication and commitment have been an important part of Brad’s ability to serve the Brotherhood, and we are deeply grateful for all she has done for our Fraternity.
