Facilities Manager

Experienced, hands-on Facilities Manager with proven expertise in Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, and Daikin heat pump systems, basic plumbing, boiler operation, and general construction practices.

The role includes troubleshooting, preventative maintenance program development, project oversight, vendor management, and frequent travel to multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, and Daikin heat pump systems (residential and light commercial models).
  • Manage routine and emergency service for boilers, including operation, safety checks, and liaison with certified boiler contractors as needed.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs and diagnostics (valves, drains, water heaters, pipe patches) and coordinate more complex plumbing work.
  • Oversee construction and renovation projects affecting building systems (HVAC, mechanical rooms, electrical interfaces, structural impacts); read plans and coordinate subcontractors.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and asset logs for HVAC, boilers, plumbing, and related systems.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for heat pump components and common mechanical supplies.
  • Train on-site staff and vendors on proper system operation, preventive care, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer service requirements.
  • Respond to service calls and incidents; provide after-hours on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
  • Travel extensively to inspect sites, support installations, and oversee project completion; maintain clear reporting to the central office.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, and Daikin heat pump systems.
  • Practical plumbing experience (repairs, diagnostics, basic installations).
  • Working knowledge of boilers (operation, safety, basic troubleshooting).
  • Familiarity with basic construction practices and the ability to read plans.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively; ability to be away from home for extended periods.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and handle tools/parts and work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC/R technician certification or equivalent experience.
  • Boiler operator license or experience working with licensed boiler contractors.
  • Experience with building management systems or preventive maintenance software.
  • Basic electrical knowledge related to HVAC controls.
