St. Louis SAE Founders' Day Celebration

A Founders’ Day celebration was held in St. Louis, Missouri, this past weekend, where the chapter honored SAE Founder Samuel Marion Dennis with a Founder’s Day Service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. It was a solemn yet inspiring ceremony, made even more meaningful by the presence of Brothers from St. Louis and beyond — including Rick Shipley (Evansville ’79) from the SAE Historical Society, who traveled from Evansville, IN, to join.

The Order of Ceremonies for the Founders’ Day Service included the following:

  1. Welcome
  2. Remarks on the Importance of Remembrance
  3. Remarks on the Founding of Sigma Alpha Epsilon
  4. Recitation of the Life of Founder Samuel Marion Dennis
  5. Excerpts from the Memorial Service of Sigma Alpha Epsilon
  6. Prayer
  7. Singing of Friends
  8. Dismissal
  9. Photographs
  10. Post-Event Gathering
