The Cincinnati chapter found out about the Red Bull Flugtag event through a friend who is an intern at Red Bull. From the get-go, they knew they wanted to work with the Sebastian Schemmel Legacy Fund (SSLF) to help raise money and awareness for their cause. The SSLF carries Sebastian’s spirit forward by supporting mental health initiatives, raising awareness, and ensuring that those who are struggling know there are brighter days ahead. Through scholarships, community outreach, educational programming, and advocacy.
Seb had always been a great mentor and friend to all the chapter brothers, and they wanted to share his story and his legacy to spread awareness about men’s mental health. The design and building phase took about three months, and they worked together on weekends when they had free time.
“The actual event went great, we flew a measly 39 feet, but the vibes were high,” Justim Berg said. “We had the opportunity to do a local news interview to talk about the cause and open our t-shirt link to the public and raise more money for the Legacy fund.”
