Giving to the SAE Foundation is a recommitment to our brotherhood. By donating you are choosing to invest in the future of SAE.
The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation holds each of our donors in the highest regard and has established multiple opportunities to allow individuals to determine how they would like to give. On behalf of everyone who benefits from your generosity, thank you for your gift.
Online donations can be made to the Annual Loyalty Fund, Chapter Funds and National Scholarships. To choose a giving initiative please click the link to the right.
Donations can either be one-time gifts or donors can join the Phoenix Circle with a monthly recurring gift of at least $25.00. Recurring gifts can be split between the Annual Loyalty Fund and Chapter Education Funds.
The SAE Annual Loyalty Fund is the annual giving program of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation. Your donation will be unrestricted, meaning that the money will go to the area with the greatest need. The Annual Loyalty Fund prepares our young men for life, provides scholarships and leadership opportunities, and preserves the Levere Memorial Temple.

Types of Planned Gifts
Investments of cash are always appreciated. However, there are other flexible and creative ways to benefit you, your family, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. You can leave a legacy with SAE by creating a trust while you are living or by including the Foundation in your will.
One of the simplest ways to support SAE’s future, a bequest provides a gift to the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation in your will.
More and more alumni choose to reach beyond their lives to give to the future by making a bequest to the Foundation in their will. Gifts to the Foundation are deductible in determining the value of your estate and can reduce your estate tax liability. If you plan to make a charitable gift by will, please consult with your attorney and be as clear as possible in describing what you want to give and to whom.
We are grateful to those who name the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation in their wills and would like the opportunity to thank you both privately and publicly by including your name on our donor list. If you prefer to remain anonymous, your gift will be kept in complete confidence. However, recognition of your gift can encourage others to do the same. We honor each donor’s wishes individually because we appreciate your support.
You can designate Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation as a beneficiary under your life insurance policy. Policy proceeds distributed to a nonprofit such as the SAE Foundation are exempt from estate tax.
Much like life insurance plans, you can designate Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation as a beneficiary of your retirement plan.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation accepts gifts of real estate from donors. A gift of real estate to a nonprofit gives the donor an income tax deduction equal to the appraised fair market value of the property, with no capital gains tax due on the transfer. The value of the property will be added to the donor’s record and included in his lifetime giving amount. The SAE Foundation will either sell the property or keep it for its own use.
As a donor to Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation, you may be able to double or even triple the impact of your outright gift if your employer or your spouse’s employer offers a matching gift program.
Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in your personal philanthropy. In most cases, all you need to do is obtain a matching gift form from the personnel department, fill it out, and include it with your gift to the Foundation. We will do the rest.
If you have any questions, please contact Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation or your employer.
To make a donation from your IRA, donor-advised fund, or a gift of annuity, please speak with your financial advisor and indicate the fund to which you wish your gift to be directed. The Foundation’s tax ID is 36-2170145.
