Eastern Emerging Leaders Academy

The Emerging Leaders Academy is a two-day intensive leadership event for emerging leaders, both undergraduate and alumni, who are ready to rise to the next step in their leadership journey. These events provide emerging leaders the skills and confidence needed to tackle future leadership responsibilities, lead fearlessly, and rise above challenges they never dreamed possible.
SCHEDULE & CURRICULUM
Program check-in will be 5PM-5:45PM on Friday. Please plan to arrive by 5:30PM. The program will conclude on Saturday evening. Dinner is on your own and you are free to depart at your leisure. To graduate you must be in attendance for all parts of the program. Do not book flights out on Saturday any earlier than 8PM. Your hotel reservation includes lodging for Saturday night so it is advised that you plan to depart on Sunday morning.

Registration with hotel includes two nights in our host hotel, program registration, and materials, dinner Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday.

Chapters who register and pay for three members to attend will receive a discount code for an additional complimentary registration sponsored by the SAE Foundation. Discount codes will be sent 1-2 business days after registration is completed and must be redeemed before the registration deadlines. Please plan ahead when registering members as we will not issue refunds for earned complimentary registrations.
Cancelled registrations will be refunded until 10:00 p.m. CST on September 8. After that time, no refunds for cancellations will be issued.
*We do not accept or honor roommate requests, though we make every effort to have attendees from the same chapter in the same room.
CANCELLATIONS & SUBSTITUTIONS
Anyone needing to cancel or substitute their registration must login to their MySAE Account and submit a change request. Substitutions may incur a $75 substitution fee. Mid-program substitutions are not permitted and will result in failure to graduate. Cancelled registrations will be refunded until 10:00 p.m. CST on September 8th.
REGISTRATION & PAYMENT TERMS
By registering for this event, you hereby acknowledge that you have read all of the following terms and conditions and agree to them: By completing this registration, you certify you are either 1) registering yourself for the event or 2) completing registrations for fellow chapter members on their behalf and are liable by doing so. During registration, it is the responsibility of the person registering to keep track of who he registers, and that person will be responsible for payments for any member he registers. Failure to pay for yourself, or the members you registered, will result in your chapter being billed. Registrants are not required to stay on property for this event. The deadline for regular registration is 10:00 p.m. CST on September 14. The deadline for late registration is 10:00 p.m. CST on September 21. Cancellations may be submitted until 10:00 p.m. CST on September 8. After that time, no refunds will be issued. Payment is due at the time of registration.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS & TRAVEL
Attendees who register with hotel will stay at the Renaissance Philadelphia Airport Hotel. The address for the hotel is: 500 Stevens Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19113
If you register with hotel your reservation will be taken care of by the Fraternity. You will check-in to the hotel on Friday and check-out on Sunday. Partial-night rates are not permitted.
We do not accept or honor roommate requests, though we make every effort to have attendees from the same chapter in the same room.
You will be required to provide your own transportation to and from the Renaissance Philadelphia Airport Hotel.
The closest airport to the hotel is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to the airport by request. The shuttle is available daily from 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Please contact the hotel directly for additional information.
The Renaissance Philadelphia Airport Hotel offers complimentary self-parking for all attendees.
Attendance for the entire program — from start to finish — is required for successful graduation. Departing early from the program, for any reason, may result in failure to graduate. Additionally, mid-program substitutions are not permitted and will result in failure to graduate. Attendees who fail to graduate from the program will be responsible for reimbursing the cost of attendance that is sponsored by the Fraternity and Foundation ($100). A No Show Fee of $100 will be charged to anyone who fails to attend without formally cancelling their registration on MySAE during the cancellation period.
Dress for Emerging Leaders Academy is business casual. Plan to bring slacks, polo or button-down shirts, dress shoes and coordinating dress socks. NO JEANS.
You should also pack casual and lounge attire for when you are on your own as well as personal toiletries.
CODE OF CONDUCT
As an attendee of our Academy, you will be asked to agree to the following terms, which help designate us as true gentlemen and leaders: I do hereby agree to adhere to the following Code of Conduct while I am an attendee of the Emerging Leaders Academy. My conduct will at all times be a reflection of “The True Gentleman.” I will not violate the laws of the land, the regulations of my university/college or the Fraternity Laws and health-and-safety policies of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. If I fail in any way to follow this Code of Conduct, I fully understand that the Eminent Supreme Recorder or his designee has the right to remove me from the Academy immediately and send me home at my own expense, or with my chapter being billed by the Fraternity Service Center. I also understand that if this occurs, my membership in Sigma Alpha Epsilon may be terminated. As a gentleman, I understand that some t-shirt slogans or pictures can be vulgar or tasteless. I will refrain from wearing such a shirt while a part of the Emerging Leaders Academy. If I have a question as to my shirt’s acceptability, I will ask a staff or faculty member for guidance. I realize that this type of dress reflects on the image of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. I further agree that I shall continue to abide by the Scope of Association, which I signed upon claiming my sae.net account. I understand that if my poor attendance at general sessions, seminars, or meetings or my conduct warrants my failing the Emerging Leaders Academy and not being awarded a diploma, I will be responsible for reimbursing the total tuition cost paid by the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. I understand and acknowledge that attendance at the entire Academy — from start to finish — is required for successful graduation. Departing early from the Academy, for any reason, may result in my failure to graduate from the Academy. Additionally, I understand that if my actions cause injury to someone or something, I will indemnify and hold Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Foundation harmless from any claims arising from my actions.
