The cruise will sail from the Port of Miami, Florida, on Monday, August 6, through Friday, August 10, making its way through the Caribbean. Our attendees’ port of call this year will be Nassau, the Bahamas, where delegates will be able to disembark and enjoy tourist destinations and excursions in the town.

In addition to an incredible line-up of world-renowned speakers and leadership programming just for Sigma Alpha Epsilon, all delegates will get to take advantage of the cruise ship’s many on-board services and amenities. Brothers will also enjoy a nightly coat-and-tie dinner with the entire Leadership School delegation.

In order to receive the pricing for a particular registration period, the Fraternity Service Center must receive your payment during that registration period. More information can be found below in “Registration Terms.”

Normal Registration

REGISTRATION TERMS

By completing this registration, you certify you are either 1) registering yourself for the event or 2) completing registrations for fellow chapter members on their behalf and are liable by doing so. During registration, it is the responsibility of the person registering to keep track of who he registers, and that person will be responsible for payments for any member he registers. Failure to pay for yourself, or the members you registered, will result in your chapter being billed.

Chapters that elect delegates at meeting should plan to so do before June 1, 2012. Cancellations will not be accepted after June 1, 2012, and substitutions will not be accepted after July 22, 2012. Substitutions made after June 1, 2012, will be subject to a fee and are available with the approval of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines until July 22, 2012. No substitutions will be made after July 22, 2012.

Please read and understand our FAQ page for specific registration terms and additional information about cancellations, substitutions and no shows.

PAYMENT TERMS

You will have two options for payment: credit/debit card or “Bill Me Later,” which should be used for checks, Chapter Education Funds or scholarships. Once you submit your credit-card information, your card will be charged. If you select “Bill Me Later,” it is your responsibility to follow through on making payment arrangements. The Fraternity Service Center will not send you an actual bill but may follow up with you regarding your registration if it remains incomplete.

If you choose the “Bill Me Later” option, you accept responsibility for making your payment arrangements by June 1, 2012.

There will be three registration periods:

  • Priority registration is $550 and must be received by Friday, February 10, 2012, or you will be charged the early-bird fee of $600.
  • Early-bird registration is $600 and must be received by Friday, April 6, 2012, or you will be charged the regular registration fee of $650.
  • Regular registration fee is $650 and must be received by Friday, June 1, 2012.

Registration for Leadership School closes on Friday, June 1, 2012.

TRAVEL TERMS

By registering for Leadership School, you understand you must have a passport in your possession when you arrive in Miami. It is your responsibility to acquire a passport from the U.S. government, and you understand Sigma Alpha Epsilon is not responsible for your failure to adhere to this regulation and will not refund your registration fee if you do not have a passport or forget to bring it to Miami.

Please note that if you are an international student you should check with you consulate or James Irwin, Director of Educational Programs, before you plan any travel. In addition, if you need to cancel your registration but fail to do so with the member services department before the deadlines listed above, Sigma Alpha Epsilon will not be able to reimburse you, and you will be responsible for the cost of Leadership School.

To avoid any unforeseen delays, we suggest that you arrive Sunday, August 5, for registration at the Marriot Biscayne Bay from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Registration will reopen on Monday, August 6, at 8:00 am and close at 1:00 pm. HONOR INITIATE PROGRAM

Each year, Leadership School features a special program for honor initiates, who experience a unique track that culminates in their initiation during a model ceremony at the school. We encourage our chapters to send eligible, non-initiated members to Leadership School for this opportunity to join our Honor Initiate Program.

To access the Honor Initiate application, and for additional details, click HERE.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

Sigma Alpha Epsilon members are being offered a great rate of $99 a night at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay, our official hotel for Leadership School. It’s located in the heart of downtown Miami, just a few minutes via cab to the beaches, including South Beach, and near the city’s hub of activity. This hotel is also especially convenient since all of our pre-cruise and registration activity will take place there. You’ll be staying where everyone stays. Many delegates have taken advantage of this opportunity in years past, so we encourage you to do the same.

Make your reservation by clicking HERE or calling (800) 228-9290 or (888) 236-2427. If you call, make sure you mention “Sigma Alpha Epsilon” to get our special rate, which ends on July 22. Reservations are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. After the July 22 deadline, reservations and rates are subject to the hotel's discretion.

CODE OF CONDUCT

As an attendee of our school, you will be asked to agree to the following terms, which help designate us as true gentlemen and leaders.

I do hereby agree to adhere to the following Code of Conduct while I am a delegate of the 77th Leadership School and a guest of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. My conduct will at all times be a reflection of “The True Gentleman.” I will not violate the laws of the land, the regulations of my university/college, the rules Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines or the Fraternity Laws and risk-management policies of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

I fully understand that it is a felony to tamper with any fire-safety device, and that if caught, I will be prosecuted and subject to fine and arrest. I also fully understand that any threats to the safety of the ship or its employees are a violation of Homeland Security laws, which are felonies and may result in fines and imprisonment.

If I fail in any way to follow this Code of Conduct, I fully understand that the Eminent Supreme Recorder has the right to remove me from the school immediately and send me home at my own expense, or with my chapter being billed by the Fraternity Service Center. I also understand that if this occurs, my membership in Sigma Alpha Epsilon may be terminated.

I understand the phones in my room are for ship-to-shore calls. They are quite expensive and are my responsibility. The wireless internet connection available on board is also expensive and my responsibility. I will use common sense when taking advantage of these services. I understand that there is a gambling casino on board. I agree to use common sense if I do use these facilities. Additionally, I understand that any gambling debt or purchase during the cruise is my personal responsibility and not the Fraternity’s.

I understand that Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines provides alcoholic beverages to guests 21 years of age or older and that Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines also provides a gambling casino that may be used by anyone 18 years of age or older. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines provides on-board security to enforce these rules. I further understand no alcohol or gambling is allowed during the day until the last session of Leadership School is finished for that day. Also, since there are many other passengers on board, I understand that no members will take shots/shooters, chug alcohol or participate in drinking games. I will conduct myself at all times as a true gentleman.

As a gentleman, I understand that some t-shirt slogans or pictures can be vulgar or tasteless. I will refrain from wearing such a shirt while on the cruise ship. If I have a question as to my shirt’s acceptability, I will ask a staff or faculty member for guidance. I realize that this type of dress reflects on the image of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

I understand that if my poor attendance at general sessions and chapter meetings or my conduct warrants my failing Leadership School and not being awarded a diploma, I will be responsible for reimbursing the total tuition cost paid by the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation and/or my Chapter Education Fund or other scholarship fund. Additionally, I understand that if my actions cause injury to someone or something, I will indemnify and hold Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Foundation harmless from any claims arising from my actions.
