  • EVENT: #GivingTuesday is a day focused on generosity, and your support of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation helps us to fulfill our mission of advancing Sigma Alpha Epsilon and its members though the highest levels of philanthropic support. We give thanks on Thanksgiving, we get great deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and we think about helping causes dear to our heart on Giving Tuesday.   • IMPORTANT: We are coming to the end of this fall term, so we’d like to recap to our members, advisers and house corporation officers crucial health & safety reminders. For details, click HERE.
  • The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation is proud to announce its annual scholarship applications will be available beginning January 16, 2018, and are due on March 1. Thanks to the generosity of donors and friends, 47 awards will be distributed totaling $74,500, which is an increase from the previous year. For more details, click HERE.
  • HOUSING: Winter is approaching. To assist our chapter facilities across the Realm, the SAE Financial & Housing Corporation has provided a checklist to help prepare properties for the upcoming break during the holidays. Click HERE to see if yours is ready for the cold weather.
  • EVENT: Eminent Archon Institute registration is now open for current and incoming EAs. The program will take place January 5-7, 2018, at the Chicago Marriott O’Hare. Our regular registration rate of $195 is available through December 13, 2017, at 4:00 pm CT, so we encourage you to sign up during this period. Here’s how to join us: Log in to your MySAE account, click “Events” and follow the instructions. In addition, we are offering scholarships so that our top officers can take advantage of this professional-development experience. To apply, click HERE. The due date is December 13.   • Please be advised, any groups with an unpaid balance for the 2017 Fall Invoice, and which are not on an approved payment plan, have had late fees posted on November 15 the greater of $25 or 1.5% of the total amount. Furthermore, late fees for unpaid initiations begin 30 days after the ceremony. Please contact Manager of Membership & Records Ross Pometta at rpometta@sae.net with questions or appeals regarding any outstanding monies.
  • We are preparing the plaque for the Eagle of Freedom in our Peace Chapel, a memorial that honors the lives of brothers who joined Chapter Eternal on 9/11 and in resulting conflicts in the Middle East during the last 16 years.   • JOB POSTING: Are you graduating next month or next spring? As you look ahead at your upcoming career, we encourage you to join our staff to gain valuable experience and work in a great learning environment.   • Community service is a key part of the Fraternity’s mission, and we remind everyone about one of our newest partnerships. CrowdChange is a fundraising platform specifically catered toward Greek-letter philanthropic events with a goal to help you raise more money and save time. This union offers each of our groups the ability to host those events on our very own SAE-specific CrowdChange website, which you can see HERE. Just click on “Start a Fundraiser” to begin your own initiative.

  • The Phi Alpha Club reached a new milestone at this year’s DeVotie Ritual Institute! We had 87 undergraduates join, allowing the Foundation to provide scholarships and opportunities to our members and help maintain the Levere Memorial Temple. In fact, the collegiate donors achieved the Bunting Society level as a group. Phi Alpha to all those who gave!
  • Our historic Levere Memorial Temple recently was recognized with a 50-year award by Design Evanston, a not-for-profit advocacy organization promoting building design. In addition, Open House Chicago was a resounding success with more than 1,200 visitors who stopped at 1856 Sheridan Road to visit. Next year’s event is slated for October 13-14, 2018.

Other Events

  • The 83rd John O. Moseley Leadership School will be held at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, Arizona, on August 3-6, 2018. Further details will be available in the coming months, but chapters and colonies should mark their calendars.
  • The National Amateur Golf Tournament, hosted annually by the Pensacola Alumni Association, is slated for May 3-5, 2018, at the Perdido Bay Golf Club.
