Job Posting: Staff Accountant

EVANSTON, IL – The SAE Financial & Housing Corporation is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated individual to join our finance department as a Staff Accountant. Some of the responsibilities for this role include analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine and maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability or other financial activities within the organization. This job posting is a great opportunity for an entry-level accountant or recent graduate.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing general accounting support, which includes journal entries and account analysis; processing accounts receivable for campuses and accounts payable for outside vendors; completing bank reconciliations; and organizing and maintaining work files and documents, among other duties.

Our ideal candidate should have organizational, analytical and customer-service skills as well as an ability to help resolve issues and problems. Furthermore, the individual should possess an ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and should be proficient in Microsoft applications, such as QuickBooks, Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains) and Excel. Solid accounting knowledge and skills through coursework completion and projects, accurate data-entry skills and a keen ability to communicate are additionally important.

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and previous internship experience in general accounting. Experience in higher education is preferred.
