Our Eminent Archon Institute provides our chapter presidents with the tools necessary for their success in leading their chapters. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how best to apply their skills to the tasks of being a chapter president, attending a combination of general sessions, breakout sessions and small-group discussions.

EVENT OVERVIEW

Our Eminent Archon Institute provides our chapter presidents with the tools necessary for their success in leading their chapters. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore their leadership potential and learn how best to apply their skills to the tasks of being a chapter president.

This program is open to brothers who will hold the Eminent Archon at the time of the event, as well as for incoming, recently elected Eminent Archons.

MISSION AND OUTCOMES

The mission of the Eminent Archon Institute is to provide Eminent Archons with the skills necessary to be successful in leading chapters and in their professional lives. These skills include:

1) overcoming temptations of leadership and making the best choice in a decision
2) overcoming barriers to success
3) planning and execution of goals and initiatives
4) crisis management

By attending the Eminent Archon Institute, attendees will:

1) Through participation in presentation and discussion, become familiar with the various temptations of leadership and how to resist them
2) Learn to recognize and overcome barriers to change through critical thinking and analysis
3) Learn to execute effectively a plan for change
4) Become familiar with methods to effectively manage a chapter for success

REGISTRATION COSTS & DEADLINES

Registration Fee:
Early Registration - $195 - register by December 13, 2017 by 4:00PM Central.
Late Registration - $230 - register by January 2, 2018 by 12:00PM Central.
This includes hotel costs for Friday and Saturday night, as well as dinner Friday, all meals on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
The deadline for registration is January 2, 2018, at 12:00 pm CT.

Cancellations may be submitted until 12:00 pm CT on January 2, 2018. After that time, no refunds will be issued.
Any substitutions or changes will result in a $75 substitution fee.
Please note, Chapter Education Funds (CEF) may be used to pay for registration, but will be applied after the Institute has concluded. If CEF funds are approved by your chapter's fund administrator, the credit card used to pay registration will be refunded after the program has been completed.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT TERMS

By registering for this event, you hereby acknowledge that you have read all of the following terms and conditions and agree to them:

By completing this registration, you certify you are either 1) registering yourself for the event or 2) completing registrations for fellow chapter members on their behalf and are liable by doing so. During registration, it is the responsibility of the person registering to keep track of who he registers, and that person will be responsible for payments for any member he registers. Failure to pay for yourself, or the members you registered, will result in your chapter being billed.

Payment is due at the time of registration.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS & TRAVEL

All attendees will stay at the Chicago O'Hare Airport Marriott. Partial-night rates will not be permitted, and attendees must stay at the hotel. On Friday registration opens at 4:00PM and the program begins with dinner at 6PM. Please plan to arrive in time for dinner. Plan to depart Chicago after the program concludes at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2017. This means your flight should likely not depart until after 3:00 pm. All hotel reservations are being taken care of by the Fraternity. When you arrive, check-in at the front desk and they will provide you with your room key. Roommates are randomly assigned - we are sorry, but we cannot accommodate roommate requests.

You will be required to provide your own transportation to and from Chicago O’hare Airport Marriott. There are shuttles every 15 minutes departing from the airport to the hotel. We will assign rooms and roommates at the Chicago O’Hare Airport Marriott. Sorry, roommate requests will not be honored. The address for the hotel is:

As this is an institute, sessions and topics will build on each other, so attendance at the entire program is required for success. Participants will leave the institute with the knowledge and tools to be successful as leaders and Eminent Archons, and ways in which they can lead their chapters to success.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Through the Charles F. Collins Fund, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation has made four full-tuition scholarships available for those eligible to attend the program. The application and eligibility requirements can be found HERE. The deadline for applications is December 13, 2017 at midnight.

VENDORS & EXHIBITORS

For our vendors and partners, there will be times available throughout the weekend for you to meet with our chapter presidents. The application and information for exhibitors is available HERE. The deadline for applications is December 13, 2017.

CODE OF CONDUCT

As an attendee of our institute, you will be asked to agree to the following terms, which help designate us as true gentlemen and leaders:

I do hereby agree to adhere to the following Code of Conduct while I am a delegate of the Eminent Archon Institute. My conduct will at all times be a reflection of “The True Gentleman.” I will not violate the laws of the land, the regulations of my university/college, or the Fraternity Laws and health and safety policies of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

If I fail in any way to follow this Code of Conduct, I fully understand that the Eminent Supreme Recorder or his designee has the right to remove me from the institute immediately and send me home at my own expense, or with my chapter being billed by the Fraternity Service Center. I also understand that if this occurs, my membership in Sigma Alpha Epsilon may be terminated.

As a gentleman, I understand that some t-shirt slogans or pictures can be vulgar or tasteless. I will refrain from wearing such a shirt while a part of the Eminent Archon Institute. If I have a question as to my shirt’s acceptability, I will ask a staff or faculty member for guidance. I realize that this type of dress reflects on the image of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

I further agree that I shall continue to abide by the Scope of Association, which I signed upon claiming my sae.net account.

I understand that if my poor attendance at general sessions, seminars, or meetings or my conduct warrants my failing the Eminent Archon Institute, I will be responsible for reimbursing the total tuition cost paid by the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Additionally, I understand that if my actions cause injury to someone or something, I will indemnify and hold Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Foundation harmless from any claims arising from my actions.
