Code of Conduct
I do hereby agree to adhere to the following Code of Conduct, while I am a delegate of the 75th LeadershipSchool and a guest of Carnival Cruise Lines. My conduct at all times will be a reflection of “The True Gentleman” as well as the ideals of the Fraternity. I will not violate the laws of the land, the regulations of my university/college, the rules of Carnival Cruise Lines or the Fraternity Laws and risk-management policies of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
I fully understand that it is a felony to tamper with any fire-safety device and that, if caught, I will be prosecuted and subject to fine and arrest. I also fully understand that any threats to the safety of the ship or its employees are a violation of Homeland Security laws, which are felonies and may result in fines and imprisonment. Similarly I understand that altering identification such as passports and driver’s licenses is a crime. If you are caught using such altered identification you may be taken into custody by U.S. Customs officials.
If I fail in any way to follow this Code of Conduct, I fully understand that the Eminent Supreme Recorder has the right to remove me from the school immediately and send me home at my own expense or with my chapter being billed by the FraternityServiceCenter. I also understand that if this occurs, my membership in Sigma Alpha Epsilon may be terminated.
I understand the phones in my room are for ship-to-shore calls. They are quite expensive and are my responsibility. The wireless internet connection available on board is also expensive and my responsibility. I will use common sense when taking advantage of these services. I understand that there is a gambling casino on board. I agree to use common sense if I do use these facilities. Additionally, I understand that any gambling debt or purchase during the cruise is my personal responsibility and not the Fraternity’s.
I understand that Carnival Cruise Lines provides alcoholic beverages to guests 21 years of age or older and that Carnival Cruise Lines also provides a gambling casino that may be used by anyone 18 years of age or older. Carnival Cruise Lines provides onboard security to enforce these rules. I further understand that no alcohol or gambling are allowed during the day until the last session of LeadershipSchool is finished for that day. Also, since there are many other passengers on board, no members of SAE will take shots/shooters, chug alcohol or participate in drinking games. I will conduct myself at all times as a true gentleman.
As a true gentlemen I understand that some t-shirt slogans/pictures are vulgar/tasteless and will refrain from wearing such a shirt while on the cruise ship. If I have a question as to my shirt’s acceptability, I will ask a staff or faculty member for guidance. I realize that my dress reflects the image of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
I understand that if my poor attendance at general sessions and chapter meetings or my conduct warrants my failing LeadershipSchool and not being awarded a diploma, I will be responsible for reimbursing the tuition cost paid by Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Foundation and/or my Chapter Education Fund or other scholarship fund.
I Agree To These Terms And Conditions
